Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Before submitting the abstract,  registration of the first (or presenting) author is mandatory.

Please note that each registration allows the submission of a single abstract.

Abstracts, formatted according to the guidelines and limited to one A4 page, must be submitted online.

Please select your topic; contributions on the following areas are welcome:

1.   Glycobiology in Health and Disease
Investigating the critical functions of glycans in human health, disease progression, and therapeutic development.

2.   Glycobiology in Microbial-Host Interactions
Understanding the roles of carbohydrates in pathogen behavior, immune responses, and host-pathogen dynamics.

3.   Glycomics, Glycoproteomics, and Biomarker Discovery
Unveiling novel glycoconjugates and their potential as biomarkers for diagnostics and precision medicine.

4.   Carbohydrates in Food Science and Agriculture
Exploring the impact of carbohydrates on nutrition, gut fermentation, food safety, crop science, agri-food by-products valorization, sustainable agriculture, and seaweed farming.

5.   (Bio)Synthesis, Structural Analysis, and Molecular Recognition
Innovative methods for carbohydrate synthesis, structural characterization, and their roles in molecular interactions.

6.   Carbohydrate-Based Biomaterials
Developing carbohydrate-derived biomaterials for cutting-edge applications in medicine, tissue engineering, and environmental sustainability.

7.   Applications of Carbohydrates in Biotechnology and Industry
Harnessing carbohydrates for biotechnological, pharmaceutical, and industrial innovative solutions.

  • Deadline for abstract submission (oral and flash communications): June 15, 2025

  • Notification of acceptance (oral and flash presentations): July 1, 2025

  • Late-breaking abstract submission (poster only): August 31, 2025


Oral Communications: Selected by the Scientific Committee, each presentation will be 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for discussion. 

Flash Presentations: Selected by the Scientific Committee, each presenter will have 5 minutes to showcase the key highlights of their poster.


Poster communications: Posters should be 80 cm (width) × 120 cm (height). They must be displayed on the first day of the meeting and remain in place until the conclusion of the final poster session.
